Suzuki GSXR 125 De-Cat Down-Pipe header & Exhaust

Price range: £ 177.16 through £ 264.02

The suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust from Max Torque Cans is the single most impactful performance upgrade you can bolt onto your lightweight Suzuki — and it is designed, engineered, and built right here in the UK. If you have ever felt your GSXR 125 has more to give than the factory pipework allows, you are absolutely right. The standard setup is heavy, restrictive, and deliberately engineered around emissions compliance rather than outright performance. This British-made replacement changes all of that, delivering significantly improved exhaust gas flow, a genuine weight saving, and a sharper, more responsive ride from the very first moment you twist the throttle.

The factory catalytic converter alone is responsible for a substantial amount of restriction on the GSXR 125. It chokes the engine’s natural breathing ability and adds unnecessary mass to a motorcycle that rewards lightness above almost everything else. By fitting the suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust, you remove that restriction entirely and replace the bulky OEM unit with a precision-engineered T304 stainless steel header that flows freely, weighs dramatically less, and is built to last through years of hard British riding — whatever the weather throws at it.

Why the Suzuki GSXR 125 De-Cat Down-Pipe Header & Exhaust Transforms Your Ride

The headline figure tells the story better than anything else. The standard Suzuki GSXR 125 downpipe tips the scales at a substantial 7 kg. Our replacement downpipe and silencer combined weigh just 3 kg. That is a saving of 4 kg of real, unsprung weight removed from your motorcycle in a single afternoon. On a machine of this size and class, 4 kg is genuinely transformative. You will feel it in acceleration, in how the bike carries itself through corners, and in the immediate, eager way it responds to your inputs. It is not a marginal gain — it is one of the most impactful single upgrades available for a 125.

Beyond the weight reduction, the suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust delivers improved exhaust gas scavenging, better mid-range response, and a soundtrack that actually does justice to the machine underneath you. The factory silencer is muted by design. This header, paired with any can from the Max Torque Cans range, gives the GSXR 125 the voice it always deserved.

Key Features of the Suzuki GSXR 125 De-Cat Down-Pipe Header & Exhaust

  • British-made T304 stainless steel construction — engineered to withstand high temperatures, resist corrosion, and maintain its appearance across years of demanding use in all conditions.
  • De-cat design — completely removes the standard catalytic converter to eliminate exhaust restriction and unlock significantly improved gas flow rates through the header.
  • Direct OEM fitment — follows the exact same routing and mounting points as the standard header. No cutting, drilling, or fabrication required.
  • Ø45mm inlet — compatible with the full range of Max Torque Cans silencers, giving you complete flexibility over your final can choice.
  • Includes O2 Lambda Sensor Boss — allows your standard OEM Lambda sensor to thread straight back in cleanly, keeping the fuelling management system fully intact.
  • 4 kg weight saving — compared to the standard downpipe and cat assembly, delivering a handling and performance benefit you will feel on every single ride.
  • No fuelling remap required as standard — engineered to deliver strong power gains without requiring any changes to the factory fuel map.

Fitment and Installation

Fitting the suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust is a straightforward job for any rider with basic mechanical ability and a standard set of tools. The header is a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory pipework, using the same routing and identical mounting points as the OEM unit. There is absolutely no need to modify the frame, cut any brackets, or carry out any fabrication work whatsoever.

One important installation note: please use a high-temperature silicone-based sealant in place of the factory gasket at the header joint. This creates a reliable, gas-tight seal between the downpipe and your chosen can or silencer. High-temperature silicone sealant is readily available from any automotive supplier. Apply it evenly around the joint, allow it to cure fully as directed by the manufacturer, and you are ready to ride. It is a simple step, but it is worth doing correctly from the outset.

The downpipe is supplied as a complete, ready-to-fit unit with the Lambda sensor boss already incorporated. Your OEM sensor threads straight back in without any adapters or modifications. Once installed, the suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust pairs with any silencer featuring a Ø45mm inlet — which covers every can in the Max Torque Cans range. Select your preferred can at checkout and we will confirm compatibility before your order leaves our workshop.

Do I Need to Remap My GSXR 125 After Fitting the Suzuki GSXR 125 De-Cat Down-Pipe Header & Exhaust?

This is the question we are asked more than almost any other, and the honest answer is: not necessarily. The suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust is specifically engineered to deliver strong performance gains without requiring any changes to the standard fuel map. The vast majority of riders fit this header and ride away completely satisfied, without touching the fuelling at all.

That said, if you have already fitted an aftermarket air filter or you are running additional performance modifications, having the fuelling reviewed by a qualified technician will always complement the gains this header provides. A properly optimised fuel map works in harmony with improved exhaust flow to maximise efficiency and power across the full rev range. For most riders it is not essential, but for those chasing every last fraction of performance, it is absolutely worth considering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this de-cat header pass an MOT?

This product is intended for closed-road, competition, or off-road use where emissions regulations do not apply. Removing the catalytic converter from a road-registered motorcycle may affect its MOT emissions test result. Always check the regulations applicable to your specific use case before fitting any de-cat product to a road-legal machine.

Which can should I pair with the suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust?

Any silencer with a Ø45mm inlet will be fully compatible with the suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust. We offer a wide range of options at Max Torque Cans to suit different preferences — from refined and understated to bold and aggressive. If you are unsure which can suits your GSXR 125, get in touch and our team will point you in the right direction without any fuss.

How long will the header last?

T304 stainless steel is an exceptional material for high-temperature applications. It resists corrosion, discolouration, and fatigue significantly better than mild steel or chrome alternatives. With proper installation and basic care, your suzuki gsxr 125 de-cat down-pipe header & exhaust will deliver years of reliable, great-sounding performance regardless of what the British weather has in store.

Is this header compatible with all GSXR 125 model years?
