What’s Included with Your Honda VTR1000 SP2 RC51 RVT1000R Performance Exhaust

When your order arrives, you’ll find everything you need to complete a clean, professional installation. We don’t believe in cutting corners, which is why every kit comes fully equipped with the following components:

  • 2 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipes — precision-formed for maximum flow and perfect fitment
  • 2 x Stainless Exhaust Straps — durable, corrosion-resistant fixings to keep everything secure
  • 2 x Exhaust Strap Rubbers — vibration-dampening rubbers for a clean, rattle-free installation

The link pipes are the heart of this kit. Manufactured from grade 304 stainless steel and formed using CNC mandrel bending technology, they maintain a consistent internal diameter throughout every curve. This matters enormously for exhaust gas flow — any restriction or collapse in the pipe walls creates back pressure, which robs your engine of power. With mandrel bending, you get smooth, unrestricted flow from manifold to can, helping your honda vtr1000 sp2 rc51 rvt1000r breathe freely and perform as it was always meant to.

Why Stainless 304 Makes All the Difference on the Honda VTR1000 SP2 RC51 RVT1000R

Not all stainless steel is created equal. Grade 304 is widely regarded as the benchmark for performance exhaust applications, offering an exceptional combination of tensile strength, heat resistance, and corrosion protection. Given the British climate — with its relentless rain, road salt, and temperature extremes — you need components that won’t corrode, discolour prematurely, or weaken under thermal stress. Our 304 stainless link pipes are built to endure years of hard use while maintaining their structural integrity and appearance.

For owners of the honda vtr1000 sp2 rc51 rvt1000r, this is particularly important. The SP2’s V-twin configuration generates substantial heat, and cheap mild steel components simply don’t cope well with the thermal cycling that comes from regular riding. Investing in quality materials upfront saves you money, time, and frustration in the long run.

Fitment and Installation Notes for the Honda VTR1000 SP2 RC51 RVT1000R

One of the most common concerns riders have when upgrading their exhaust is whether the new components will fit cleanly without modification. We’re pleased to confirm that this kit is designed to fit straight onto the standard OEM downpipes of the honda vtr1000 sp2 rc51 rvt1000r with no cutting, welding, or custom fabrication required. It’s a genuine bolt-on upgrade, which means you won’t need to book your bike into a specialist workshop just to get it fitted.

Installation is well within the capabilities of any competent home mechanic. The stainless straps and strap rubbers supplied in the kit make securing the silencer straightforward, and the precision-bent link pipes ensure that everything lines up as it should first time. That said, we always recommend the following best practices during fitting:

  • Allow the engine to cool completely before beginning any exhaust work
  • Apply a small amount of copper grease to all threaded connections to prevent seizing
  • Check all connections are tight before your first ride, then recheck after the first heat cycle
  • Ensure the strap rubbers are correctly seated to avoid any unwanted vibration or contact noise
  • Run the engine briefly after fitting to check for any leaks at the joints before heading out on the road

This kit is compatible with honda vtr1000 sp2 rc51 rvt1000r models produced from 2002 onwards. If you’re unsure whether your specific build year is covered, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team before ordering — we’re always happy to confirm compatibility.

The Sound and Feel: What to Expect from Your Honda VTR1000 SP2 RC51 RVT1000R Upgrade

Let’s talk about what most riders actually want to know — what’s it going to sound like? The honda vtr1000 sp2 rc51 rvt1000r is already one of the most characterful-sounding V-twin superbikes ever produced, with a distinctive bark that sets it apart from inline-four alternatives. Our performance can amplifies that character, delivering a deeper, more authoritative exhaust note that turns heads without crossing the line into antisocial territory.

Beyond sound, riders typically report a noticeable improvement in throttle response and mid-range pull following installation. By reducing back pressure and improving exhaust gas scavenging, the engine is able to breathe more efficiently — translating directly into a crisper, more responsive riding experience. Paired with an appropriate tune or fuelling adjustment where required, the results can be genuinely impressive on the honda vtr1000 sp2 rc51 rvt1000r.
