What’s Included with the Honda CBR600 FH – FL 1987-1990 Performance Exhaust

Every kit supplied by Max Torque Cans is designed to give you everything you need straight out of the box. There’s no hunting around for additional fittings or hardware — it’s all here, ready for a clean and confident installation. This kit for the honda cbr600 fh – fl 1987-1990 includes the following components:

  • 1 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipe — crafted from high-grade 304 stainless steel and precision-bent using CNC mandrel technology for consistent bore diameter throughout every curve. This ensures optimal exhaust gas flow with no pinching or restriction, so you get the most from your engine’s breathing capability.
  • 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — a robust, corrosion-resistant mounting strap that secures your silencer firmly in place, reducing vibration and ensuring long-term reliability on both road and track.
  • 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — a quality rubber buffer that sits between the strap and the can to absorb vibration, prevent metal-to-metal contact, and extend the life of both components.

This is a complete slip-on fitting kit. The link pipe is specifically designed to mate directly with the standard OEM downpipes on the honda cbr600 fh – fl 1987-1990, meaning you won’t need to modify, cut, or fabricate anything to achieve a proper fit. Simply bolt it up and enjoy the results.

Why Choose a Max Torque Cans Exhaust for Your Honda CBR600 FH – FL 1987-1990

At Max Torque Cans, quality is never an afterthought. Every component in this kit is manufactured to exacting standards, using materials that are built to last. The 304 stainless steel construction means you’ll benefit from excellent corrosion resistance, making this exhaust suitable for year-round riding in the unpredictable British climate. The CNC mandrel bending process guarantees that the internal bore remains perfectly round throughout each bend — something that’s crucial for maintaining strong gas flow and, by extension, strong performance.

Unlike cheaper alternatives that rely on crush-bent pipework (which restricts flow at every corner), the mandrel-bent link pipe supplied for the honda cbr600 fh – fl 1987-1990 keeps exhaust gases moving swiftly and efficiently from the downpipes to the silencer. The result is improved throttle response, a more rewarding power delivery, and that unmistakable note that brings a classic Honda four to life.

We’re proud to be a UK-based retailer, which means faster delivery times, easier communication, and a team that genuinely understands what British riders need from their machines. When you buy from Max Torque Cans, you’re buying from people who ride and care deeply about motorcycles.

Installation Notes for the Honda CBR600 FH – FL 1987-1990 Link Pipe Kit

Fitting this exhaust to your honda cbr600 fh – fl 1987-1990 is a straightforward task for any competent home mechanic. The link pipe slides directly onto the existing OEM downpipe collector, so no cutting or welding is required. The stainless exhaust strap and rubber buffer included in the kit make it simple to mount the can securely and correctly first time.

We strongly recommend the following when carrying out the installation:

  • Ensure the bike is fully cooled down before starting work — the OEM downpipes will retain heat long after riding has stopped.
  • Lightly smear the pipe joints with a quality exhaust paste or sealant to ensure an airtight seal and prevent future leaks.
  • Torque all fasteners to the manufacturer’s specification and re-check them after your first 50 miles of riding, as new exhausts can settle slightly under heat cycles.
  • Check the positioning of the rubber buffer before fully tightening the strap — it should sit centrally to provide even support and protection.

We’ve also produced a series of video guides that walk you through the fitting process in detail. These are available on our YouTube channel via the links above — they’re well worth watching before you begin, as they’ll give you added confidence and help you avoid any common pitfalls.
