Price range: £ 259.72 through £ 656.18

The kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008 performance exhaust from Max Torque Cans is purpose-built for riders who demand a sharper sound, cleaner aesthetics, and a truly premium finish on their beloved sports tourer. Whether you’re running the ZZR400 or the ZZR600 variant, this exhaust has been designed with meticulous attention to detail to deliver a direct-fit solution that works straight out of the box — no cutting, no welding, and no head-scratching required.

At Max Torque Cans, we’ve been building performance exhausts for British and European riders for years, and we know what Kawasaki enthusiasts expect: quality you can see, hear, and feel every time you twist the throttle. This exhaust is no exception. It’s crafted for riders who take pride in their machine and want every component to reflect that pride.

What’s Included in the Kawasaki ZZR400-ZZR600 1990-2008 Exhaust Kit

Every kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008 exhaust kit from Max Torque Cans is supplied complete with everything you need for a clean, professional fitment. There’s no need to source additional hardware or adaptors — it’s all here, ready to go.

  • 2 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipes — precision-formed for a perfect fit against the OEM downpipes
  • 2 x Stainless Exhaust Straps — robust and corrosion-resistant for long-lasting support
  • 2 x Exhaust Strap Rubbers — providing vibration isolation and protecting the can mounting points

The use of 304 grade stainless steel throughout is particularly worth highlighting. This isn’t lightweight, budget-grade metalwork — 304 stainless is a professional specification material, highly resistant to heat, road salt, and the kind of relentless British weather that quickly degrades inferior exhausts. The CNC mandrel bending process ensures the internal bore of each link pipe remains consistent all the way around each curve, maintaining optimal gas flow and eliminating the pinching you’d see with cheaper die-bent alternatives.

The result is a performance exhaust that not only sounds spectacular but also supports the engine’s breathing characteristics, helping to maintain throttle response and mid-range pull — exactly what ZZR riders love about these machines.

Fitment Guide for the Kawasaki ZZR400-ZZR600 1990-2008

One of the most common questions we receive is whether an aftermarket exhaust will actually fit without modification. With the kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008 kit, the answer is straightforwardly yes — it is designed to bolt directly onto the standard OEM downpipes. There are no awkward adaptors to machine, no specialist tools required, and no permanent modifications to your motorcycle’s original pipework.

This makes the exhaust ideal whether you’re fitting it yourself in the garage on a Sunday morning or having a local shop carry out the installation. Either way, the process is clean and straightforward:

  • Remove your existing silencer and link pipes from the OEM downpipes
  • Slide the new stainless link pipes into position on the downpipe outlets
  • Attach the exhaust straps and rubbers securely at the mounting points
  • Torque all fasteners to the manufacturer’s recommended settings
  • Run the engine briefly to check for any minor leaks at the joints, then retighten if necessary once cool

As with all performance exhausts, we’d recommend a short break-in period — avoid sustained high RPM runs for the first 50 miles or so to allow the joints and gaskets to seat properly. After that, feel free to enjoy everything this silencer has to offer.

We understand that buying an exhaust online is a significant purchase, and seeing is believing. That’s why we’ve put together a comprehensive Flickr gallery showing the kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008 exhaust in real-world fitment, so you can see the finish quality and overall look before you commit. Alongside that, we have a selection of YouTube videos demonstrating the installation process and, crucially, the sound — because ultimately, the sound is what it’s all about.

There’s nothing quite like hearing the difference a quality aftermarket can makes on a ZZR600. The tone is deeper, more purposeful, and far more rewarding than the somewhat muted note of the stock silencer. The videos give you a genuine feel for what to expect, filmed on real bikes by real riders — not in a sound-treated studio environment.

Why Choose Max Torque Cans for Your Kawasaki ZZR400-ZZR600 1990-2008 Exhaust

There are plenty of cheap imitations available online, and we won’t pretend otherwise. But when it comes to a motorcycle that has earned such a devoted following over nearly two decades of production, we believe it deserves better than a poorly finished, poorly fitting can that’ll rust through in a season or two.

Max Torque Cans builds exhausts in the UK, with a genuine passion for motorcycles and a commitment to quality that runs through every weld, every bend, and every strap rubber we supply. When you buy a kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008 exhaust from us, you’re buying from people who actually ride, who understand what matters on the road, and who stand behind their products.

We also offer a range of exhausts for other Kawasaki models, so if you’re interested in exploring what we can do across the Kawasaki range, take a look at our Kawasaki Z650 RS Stainless De-Cat System & Rear Silencer — another popular choice for riders who want genuine performance gains paired with outstanding build quality.

Frequently Asked Questions — Kawasaki ZZR400-ZZR600 1990-2008

Will this exhaust fit both the ZZR400 and ZZR600?

Yes. The kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008 kit is designed to cover both the 400cc and 600cc variants across the full production run from 1990 to 2008. If you’re unsure about your specific model year, feel free to get in touch and we’ll confirm compatibility for you.

Is this an MOT-compliant exhaust?

We’d always recommend checking local noise and emissions regulations with your MOT tester, as rules can vary and change over time. However, many of our customers run our exhausts without any issues on standard MOT tests. We’re happy to advise further if you have specific concerns.

Do I need to remap my bike after fitting this exhaust?

For most riders fitting this exhaust to a carburettor-equipped kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008, a remap is not strictly necessary, though a carburettor jetting adjustment may improve performance and fuelling at higher RPM. We’d always recommend consulting a Kawasaki specialist or experienced tuner if you want to extract the maximum benefit.

How long will the stainless steel last?

304 grade stainless steel is an extremely durable material that, with reasonable care, should provide many years of reliable service. Unlike mild steel or chrome-plated exhausts, it won’t rust through or discolour dramatically under normal riding conditions.

Can I order just the link pipes without the can?

The kawasaki zzr400-zzr600 1990-2008 kit is supplied as a complete package including link pipes, straps, and rubbers. If you have a specific requirement or want to discuss a bespoke configuration, please contact us directly and we’ll do our best to help.
