Whether you’re commuting through city traffic, carving up back roads at the weekend, or preparing for your next track day, upgrading your exhaust is one of the most effective and rewarding modifications you can make to your bike.

The Suzuki SV650 has long been a staple of the UK motorcycling scene. Its accessible parallel-twin engine, lightweight chassis, and agile handling have earned it a devoted following among new riders and seasoned enthusiasts alike. From 2016 onwards, Suzuki refined the SV650 into a sharper, more modern machine with improved electronics, updated styling, and enhanced performance. A bike this well-engineered deserves an exhaust system to match — and that’s precisely what this fitment-specific kit delivers.

What’s Included in This Suzuki SV 650 2016-2020 Exhaust Kit

We believe in providing everything you need for a clean, professional installation without sending you on a wild goose chase for extra fittings or hardware. This complete kit for the suzuki sv 650 2016-2020 includes the following high-quality components as standard:

  • 1 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipe — precision-formed to align perfectly with your OEM downpipes
  • 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — robust, corrosion-resistant mounting hardware for secure, long-lasting fitment
  • 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — a quality rubber buffer designed to reduce vibration and protect your silencer mounting point

Every component has been chosen for durability, fitment accuracy, and performance. The stainless steel construction ensures your exhaust will stand up to the rigours of British weather — including rain, road salt, and the inevitable temperature cycling that comes with year-round riding. The CNC mandrel bending process preserves the internal diameter of the link pipe throughout every bend, ensuring smooth, unrestricted gas flow.

This translates directly into improved throttle response, better mid-range punch, and a deeper, more satisfying exhaust note that really brings the V-twin character of your SV650 to life.

Fitment Details for the Suzuki SV 650 2016-2020

This exhaust kit has been engineered specifically to bolt directly onto the standard OEM downpipes of the suzuki sv 650 2016-2020. This kit is confirmed compatible with the following model years of the Suzuki SV650:

  • 2016
  • 2017
  • 2018
  • 2019
  • 2020

We’re always happy to confirm compatibility and ensure you’re getting exactly the right part for your machine.

Fitting this kit to your suzuki sv 650 2016-2020 is a job most competent home mechanics can handle with a basic socket set and a bit of patience. Here are a few practical tips to help ensure the installation goes smoothly:

  • Let the engine cool completely before starting work — OEM downpipes and headers retain heat for a long time after riding, and burns are no fun.
  • Use copper grease or anti-seize compound on all threaded fasteners and joints before assembly. This makes future removal far easier and prevents corrosion from seizing the joints over time.
  • Check joint alignment before fully tightening any bolts or clamps. Loosely assemble the full run first, then work from the header connection back towards the silencer, tightening progressively.
  • Torque fasteners to manufacturer recommendations and recheck after the first heat cycle — thermal expansion can cause minor movement on first use.
  • Inspect for exhaust leaks after your first ride. A small amount of discolouration or smoke on first use is normal as manufacturing oils burn off, but persistent leaks should be investigated and addressed.

As always, if you’re not confident working on your bike’s exhaust components, we recommend having the installation carried out by a qualified motorcycle technician. A properly fitted exhaust not only performs better but is also safer and quieter at the joints, which matters both for MOT compliance and your overall riding experience.

Why Choose Max Torque Cans for Your Suzuki SV 650 2016-2020?

Max Torque Cans is a UK-based manufacturer and retailer with a hard-earned reputation for producing quality motorcycle exhausts that offer genuine value. We’re not reselling imported generic parts or adapting one-size-fits-all templates — we make our own products right here in the UK, which means we can control quality at every stage of production. When you order a kit for your suzuki sv 650 2016-2020, you’re getting something that has been purpose-built for that specific application.

Our stainless 304 grade material is chosen for its excellent resistance to heat, oxidation, and corrosion — all critical properties in a motorcycle exhaust that’s regularly exposed to harsh conditions. The CNC mandrel bending process we use preserves the internal diameter of the pipe throughout every curve, unlike cheaper crush-bent alternatives which can create restrictions and reduce performance.

According to Motorcycle News, choosing a quality aftermarket exhaust is one of the most effective ways to improve both the performance and sound of your bike, and we couldn’t agree more.

We also produce exhausts for a wide range of other Suzuki models. If you’ve got friends or riding mates on different Suzuki platforms, take a look at our SUZUKI GSXR 600-750 K6-K7 2006-2007 listing, or explore our SUZUKI GSXR1000 K7 K8 2007 – 2008 Twin Silencers — both are popular fitments we’re proud to stock.

Frequently Asked Questions — Suzuki SV 650 2016-2020 Exhaust

Will this fit my 2019 SV650 without any modifications?
Yes. This kit for the suzuki sv 650 2016-2020 is designed to fit straight onto the standard OEM downpipes with no cutting or welding. It should be a clean, direct replacement using the included hardware.

Do I need to remap my bike after fitting this exhaust?
A link pipe and silencer change may have a minor effect on fuelling, particularly at the top end of the rev range. On a fuel-injected bike like the suzuki sv 650 2016-2020, a remap or fuel controller (such as a Power Commander or Bazzaz unit) is not strictly essential for road use, but may help optimise performance if you’re also running other modifications such as an air filter or ECU flash.

Is this kit road legal?
The link pipe kit itself is a performance component. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any silencer used in conjunction with this link pipe meets the relevant noise and emissions regulations for road use in the UK. Please check current MOT standards and legislation if you intend to use your suzuki sv 650 2016-2020 on public roads with an aftermarket can.

What other Suzuki models do you cater for?
