The ducati st2-st3 is a machine built for riders who demand both sport and touring performance in equal measure, and it deserves an exhaust system that matches that ambition perfectly. At Max Torque Cans, we’ve developed a precision-engineered performance exhaust specifically designed to bolt straight onto your Ducati ST, delivering improved exhaust flow, a sharper and more characterful exhaust note, and a cleaner, more purposeful look at the rear of the bike.
Whether you’re carving up twisty country roads on a Sunday morning blast or clocking serious motorway miles on a European tour, this is the upgrade your ST truly deserves.
Why Upgrade Your Ducati ST2-ST3 Exhaust System?
The standard factory silencer fitted to the ducati st2-st3 from the Bologna factory is perfectly functional, but let’s be honest—it’s built to meet strict European noise regulations and cost targets, not to extract the very best from Ducati’s iconic L-twin engine. Fitting a quality aftermarket performance exhaust opens up the breathing of the engine, reduces unnecessary back-pressure that stifles power delivery, and allows that distinctive Ducati V-twin rumble to come through with far more character and authority.
The result is a noticeably more responsive throttle, a more engaging and involving ride, and a bike that sounds every bit as exciting and purposeful as it looks parked up outside your local café.
Our performance exhaust for the Ducati ST range is crafted from premium-grade materials and manufactured to exacting standards here in the UK, so you’re not just buying a louder pipe for the sake of noise—you’re investing in a precision-engineered component that’s built to last and perform flawlessly over thousands of miles of real-world riding in all weathers.
According to Motorcycle News, upgrading your exhaust is one of the most effective and popular modifications for improving both performance and rider satisfaction on modern Ducati twins.
What’s Included with the Ducati ST2-ST3 Performance Exhaust Kit?
We believe in giving you everything you need to get the job done properly, first time. Every ducati st2-st3 exhaust kit from Max Torque Cans includes the following components as standard:
- 2 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipes — precision-formed from high-grade 304 stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance and optimum exhaust gas flow
- 2 x Stainless Exhaust Straps — robust mounting straps engineered to keep everything securely in place, even under sustained high-temperature use
- 2 x Exhaust Strap Rubbers — vibration-dampening rubbers that protect both the bike’s frame and the exhaust itself from unnecessary wear and annoying rattling
The link pipes are the heart of this kit. CNC mandrel bending ensures that every curve in each pipe maintains a consistent internal diameter throughout the bend—unlike crush-bent pipes, which inevitably restrict flow at the tightest points and choke performance. This matters enormously on the Ducati ST platform, where getting the most out of the L-twin’s breathing characteristics is absolutely key to unlocking real-world performance gains you’ll feel every time you crack open the throttle.
Fitment Details for the Ducati ST2-ST3
This exhaust system is engineered to fit directly onto the standard OEM downpipes of the ducati st2-st3, meaning there’s no requirement for complex fabrication work, custom brackets, or specialist tools beyond a typical home garage setup. The kit is designed to mate cleanly and securely with the factory headers, making the installation process as straightforward as possible for a competent home mechanic or any Ducati-friendly workshop.
Fitment is direct and secure, with the included stainless steel straps and strap rubbers providing everything required to mount the cans correctly and safely.
The mounting rubbers are particularly important—they isolate the silencer from the engine’s vibration, significantly reducing the risk of fatigue cracking over time and keeping the exhaust sitting tight and rattle-free on your bike’s subframe. As always, we recommend fitting the system with the bike cold, torquing all fasteners to the appropriate settings as per your workshop manual, and running the engine through a few gentle heat cycles before riding hard.
This allows all gaskets and joints to bed in properly and ensures a long-lasting, leak-free installation on your Ducati.
Material Quality on the Ducati ST2-ST3 Link Pipes
We use 304 grade stainless steel throughout the link pipe construction on our ducati st2-st3 performance exhaust kit. This is a marine-grade stainless alloy with outstanding resistance to the intense heat, moisture, salt spray, and road contamination that motorcycle exhausts are subjected to year-round in typical British riding conditions. Unlike mild steel or chrome-plated alternatives that can rust out within a few winters, 304 stainless will not corrode or require repainting—it simply ages gracefully and keeps performing season after season.
The CNC mandrel bending process we use ensures that the internal bore of each pipe remains uncompromised at every angle and curve. This means exhaust gases flow freely and consistently from the engine’s downpipes through to the silencers, which is exactly what the Ducati L-twin engine needs to breathe at its absolute best and deliver the performance Ducati engineers intended.
Ducati ST2-ST3 Performance Exhaust—Frequently Asked Questions
Will this exhaust fit both the ST2 and the ST3?
Yes, absolutely. This kit is designed to cover both models in the Ducati ST2-ST3 range. If you’re unsure about your specific model year or configuration, please get in touch with the Max Torque Cans team and we’ll confirm fitment before you order.
Do I need to remap or rejet the bike after fitting?
In most cases, fitting this kit to a ducati st2-st3 with standard carburettors or fuel injection will not require an immediate remap, as the change in back-pressure is modest and well-judged. However, for maximum performance and to ensure the fuelling remains optimal across the rev range, a carburettor rejetting or ECU map adjustment is always worth considering.
We recommend consulting a Ducati specialist for advice specific to your individual setup.
Is this a direct replacement for the OEM silencer?
Yes, this is designed as a direct bolt-on performance upgrade, mating to the standard factory downpipes without any modification required.
Is this road legal?
This is a performance exhaust intended for use in accordance with applicable road traffic legislation. Customers are responsible for ensuring their bike complies with all relevant noise and emissions regulations in their region. If in doubt, please seek independent advice from your MOT tester or local authority.
What other Ducati models does Max Torque Cans supply exhausts for?
