Price range: £ 137.60 through £ 328.52

The yamaha fzs600 fazer 1998-2002 is one of the most beloved middleweight motorcycles ever to roll out of Japan, and it deserves an exhaust that matches its character — purposeful, reliable, and genuinely performance-focused. At Max Torque Cans, we’ve built this stainless steel performance exhaust specifically for Fazer owners who want a clean, well-engineered upgrade that slots straight onto the standard OEM downpipes without fuss, without compromise, and without the eye-watering price tag of some big-brand alternatives.

Whether you’re a seasoned Fazer enthusiast who’s ridden this bike since new or a newer owner who’s recently picked one up and wants to give it a fresh lease of life, this exhaust is exactly what you’ve been looking for. Built in the UK, tested on the bike, and designed to last, this is the kind of product that genuinely makes a difference every time you twist the throttle.

What’s Included with the Yamaha FZS600 Fazer 1998-2002 Exhaust

Every order for the yamaha fzs600 fazer 1998-2002 exhaust includes everything you need to get the job done properly. There’s no hunting around for extra fittings or making do with generic parts — it all comes in the box, ready to fit.

  • 1 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipe — precision engineered for optimal gas flow and a perfect OEM fitment
  • 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — robust and corrosion-resistant, built to handle the rigours of year-round riding
  • 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — provides vibration damping and protects the mounting point from wear

That link pipe is the heart of this kit. CNC mandrel bending ensures the pipe retains a consistent diameter through every bend, which means exhaust gases flow freely without restriction. Compare that to cheap crush-bent alternatives and the difference is night and day — in terms of both performance and longevity.

Why Stainless 304 Is the Right Choice for Your Yamaha FZS600 Fazer 1998-2002

Not all stainless steel is created equal. We use 304-grade stainless steel throughout the link pipe and strap because it offers an outstanding balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and workability. For a bike like the yamaha fzs600 fazer 1998-2002, which is often used as a daily commuter as well as a weekend blaster, that rust resistance is crucial.

British weather being what it is — rain, road salt, and everything in between — you need a performance exhaust that won’t turn into a rusty embarrassment after a single winter. Stainless 304 holds up beautifully under thermal cycling, resists surface oxidation, and keeps looking smart for years with minimal maintenance. It’s not just a material choice; it’s a commitment to quality that you’ll appreciate every single time you look down at your Fazer.

The mandrel bending process we use means that the internal bore of the pipe is perfectly smooth and consistent. There are no kinks, no pinch points, and no areas where exhaust gases can slow down or create unwanted back pressure. The result is a freer-flowing exhaust that works in harmony with your engine rather than fighting against it.

Fitment Notes for the Yamaha FZS600 Fazer 1998-2002

Fitment is genuinely straightforward for the yamaha fzs600 fazer 1998-2002. This exhaust is designed to bolt directly onto the standard OEM downpipes — no cutting, no welding, and no specialist fabrication required. If you’re comfortable with basic mechanical work, this is well within reach as a home garage job.

Here are a few practical tips to make the installation go smoothly:

  • Soak the existing exhaust clamps and bolts in penetrating fluid the night before — on a bike of this age, seized fixings are common and a little preparation saves a lot of frustration
  • Allow the bike to cool completely before starting work — burned fingers help nobody
  • Check the rubber exhaust strap mount on the frame for wear before fitting the new strap — replace it if needed for a rattle-free finish
  • Torque all fixings to the manufacturer’s specification and re-check them after the first heat cycle
  • A smear of copper anti-seize paste on the slip joints will make future removal far easier

If you’re pairing this link pipe with a new can or silencer, make sure the outlet diameter is compatible before ordering. If you’re unsure, drop us a message — we’re always happy to help you spec the right combination for your yamaha fzs600 fazer 1998-2002.

Performance and Sound: What to Expect from Your Yamaha FZS600 Fazer 1998-2002 Exhaust Upgrade

Let’s talk about what you’ll actually notice when you ride away. The improved gas flow through the mandrel-bent link pipe helps the engine breathe more efficiently across the rev range. On a yamaha fzs600 fazer 1998-2002, that translates to a slightly crisper throttle response and a more progressive power delivery — exactly what you want whether you’re filtering through city traffic or enjoying a weekend run through the hills.

Sound-wise, this exhaust gives the Fazer a cleaner, more purposeful tone compared to a tired OEM unit. It’s not anti-social loud — this isn’t a race-only can — but there’s a satisfying depth to the exhaust note that makes the bike feel more alive. It’s the kind of sound that turns heads at petrol stations for all the right reasons.
