1 X UNIVERSAL 2″ SLIP ON Performance Motorbike Road-Legal / Race Exhaust Muffler

Price range: £ 98.04 through £ 288.96

The 1 x universal 2″ slip on performance motorbike road-legal / race exhaust muffler from Max Torque Cans represents everything a serious UK rider needs when upgrading their bike’s exhaust system: proven quality, genuine performance gains, and a fitment process so straightforward you can tackle it in your own garage with basic hand tools.

Whether you’re breathing new life into an ageing commuter, building a custom café racer from the ground up, or simply looking to liberate a few extra horses from your track day weapon, this universal slip-on can delivers the perfect blend of practicality, sound, and value. Designed to fit any motorcycle equipped with a 2″ (51mm) outer diameter link pipe or downpipe, this performance silencer is the kind of upgrade that makes an immediate, tangible difference from the first twist of the throttle.

At Max Torque Cans, we’ve built our reputation on supplying performance exhaust solutions to thousands of satisfied riders across the UK. We understand that universal exhausts need to do more than just fit — they need to perform, last, and look the part on a wide variety of machines. That’s why this slip-on can comes complete with everything required for a secure, rattle-free installation: a robust connecting clamp, a corrosion-resistant stainless steel exhaust strap, and a rubber strap buffer to protect against vibration wear.

There’s no need to hunt down extra hardware or improvise mounting solutions. Everything arrives in one box, ready to bolt on and ride.

Choosing the right universal exhaust can be daunting, especially when you’re bombarded with cheap imports and poorly constructed alternatives that promise the world but deliver little more than a tinny rasp and a short service life. The 1 x universal 2″ slip on performance motorbike road-legal / race exhaust muffler stands out because it’s engineered with real-world riding in mind.

Measuring 380mm in length with a 2″ (51mm) slip-on inlet, this can is compact enough to suit sportier machines whilst offering enough internal volume to produce a deep, purposeful exhaust note without excessive drone or harshness.

One of the standout features is the dual-specification availability. You can opt for the road-legal version, which is designed to meet the noise and emissions requirements necessary for everyday use on UK public roads, or choose the race variant for track days and closed-circuit events where outright performance and an aggressive soundtrack take priority.

Both versions share the same high-quality construction and fitment hardware, giving you flexibility depending on how and where you ride. This versatility makes the can an excellent choice for riders who split their time between commuting during the week and hitting the track at weekends.

The lightweight construction is another significant advantage. Replacing a heavy, restrictive OEM silencer with this performance alternative reduces unsprung weight, which can improve handling, throttle response, and overall bike dynamics. Riders consistently report a sharper, more responsive feel through the mid-range, along with a noticeable reduction in that sluggish, muffled sensation that plagues many standard exhaust systems.

According to Motorcycle News, upgrading to a quality aftermarket exhaust is one of the most cost-effective performance modifications you can make, often delivering improvements in both power delivery and rider enjoyment without the expense of internal engine work.

Installing the 1 x universal 2″ slip on performance motorbike road-legal / race exhaust muffler is a straightforward job that most riders can complete at home with nothing more than a socket set and a bit of patience. The slip-on design means there’s no welding, no cutting, and no need to remove your headers unless you specifically choose to do so.

The can slides directly onto your existing link pipe or downpipe, provided that pipe has an outer diameter of 2″ (51mm). This measurement is critical, so we strongly recommend using a digital calliper or tape measure to confirm your existing pipework before placing your order. Measure the outer diameter at the point where the new can will connect — this is not the internal bore, but the outside dimension of the tube itself.

Once you’ve confirmed compatibility, the installation process is refreshingly simple. Start by removing your old silencer or can, taking care to note how the existing mounting hardware is configured. Slide the new 2″ inlet over the end of your link pipe, positioning the can at your preferred angle — most riders opt for a horizontal orientation or a slight upward sweep for aesthetics and ground clearance.

Secure the connecting clamp firmly around the inlet joint, ensuring a gas-tight seal that won’t blow or rattle under load. Next, attach the stainless steel exhaust strap to a suitable mounting point on your subframe or pillion peg bracket, then fit the rubber buffer between the strap and the can body to prevent vibration damage and maintain a secure, quiet fitment.

We always recommend allowing the can to heat cycle a couple of times before making final adjustments. Exhaust components expand when hot, and a clamp that feels secure at room temperature may benefit from a final tighten after the first ride. Always allow the system to cool completely before working on it again to avoid burns and ensure accurate torque settings.

If you’re running a twin exhaust configuration and need a matching pair, consider our 2 X UNIVERSAL 2″ SLIP-ON Performance Road Legal/RACE Exhausts Mufflers silencers, which offer a coordinated aesthetic and identical performance characteristics across both sides of your bike.

Sound is subjective, but the 1 x universal 2″ slip on performance motorbike road-legal / race exhaust muffler consistently earns praise for delivering a deep, confident exhaust note that enhances the riding experience without crossing into antisocial territory. The road-legal version is tuned to produce a satisfying growl that turns heads for the right reasons, whilst remaining compliant with the noise regulations that apply to UK road use.

It’s the kind of sound that adds character to your machine without inviting unwanted attention from traffic officers or noise cameras.

The race variant, by contrast, is designed for maximum flow and minimum restriction. It’s louder, more aggressive, and built specifically for track environments where sound limits are more generous and outright performance is the goal. Riders switching from a restrictive stock can to this race-spec silencer often report noticeable improvements in throttle response, a cleaner power curve through the mid-range, and a reduction in back pressure that allows the engine to breathe more freely at higher RPMs.

While a slip-on can won’t transform your bike into a superbike overnight, it does unlock performance that’s often stifled by heavy, over-engineered OEM systems designed primarily for noise compliance and cost reduction.

Build Quality, Durability, and What’s Included in the Box

At Max Torque Cans, we’re proud of the build quality that goes into every product we supply. The can body is constructed from durable materials designed to withstand the heat, vibration, and weather conditions that UK riding throws at it year-round. The stainless steel exhaust strap included in the kit is a perfect example of this commitment: it won’t rust, it won’t snap, and it’ll outlast many cheaper alternatives on the market.

The rubber strap buffer is another thoughtful inclusion, designed to absorb vibration and prevent wear on the can’s outer shell, ensuring a long service life and a secure, rattle-free fitment.

Your order includes everything needed for a complete installation: one MTC exhaust can (380mm length, 2″ inlet), one connecting clamp, one stainless exhaust strap, and one rubber strap buffer. There are no hidden costs, no surprise compatibility issues, and no need to source additional hardware from your local motorcycle shop. It’s all there, ready to fit, the moment your package arrives.

Will this fit my bike?
This is a universal fitment exhaust designed to suit any motorcycle with a 2″ (51mm) outer diameter link pipe or downpipe. It is not bike-specific, so accurate measurement of your existing pipework is essential before ordering. If you’re uncertain, our team is always happy to help — just get in touch with your bike’s make, model, and year, and we’ll advise on compatibility.

Do I need to remap my bike after fitting this can?
In most cases, no. Because this is a slip-on silencer that replaces only the back box and not the headers or catalytic converter, the fuelling impact is usually minimal. However, on some modern fuel-injected machines with narrow fuelling tolerances, a remap or fuel controller can help optimise performance and ensure smooth running. If in doubt, consult your local tuner or dealer for advice specific to your model.

Is the road-legal version genuinely compliant with UK regulations?
The road-legal version is designed and sold as a road-legal product suitable for use on UK public roads. However, it remains the rider’s responsibility to ensure their motorcycle complies with all applicable noise and emissions regulations. Modifications to exhaust systems can affect MOT results and insurance validity, so we recommend checking your policy documentation and speaking with your insurer before making changes.

Can I use this on a twin exhaust setup?
This listing is for one single can, making it ideal for single-exhaust configurations or riders replacing one side of a twin system. If your bike runs a twin configuration and you need a matching pair, browse our related products for coordinated twin options that offer identical styling and performance across both sides.

What tools will I need for installation?
You’ll need basic hand tools: a socket set or spanners to tighten the connecting clamp and exhaust strap

Specifically, two changes detailed below:

Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers).
