The kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier) performance exhaust from Max Torque Cans is the definitive aftermarket solution for sport-touring riders who demand both practicality and performance. Designed and manufactured right here in the UK, this exhaust system addresses one of the most frustrating challenges faced by Z1000-SX owners: finding a quality bolt-on upgrade that works flawlessly with factory or aftermarket pannier setups.
If you’ve been searching for an exhaust that delivers a spine-tingling soundtrack without compromising your luggage capacity or requiring elaborate modifications, your search ends here. This is precision engineering tailored specifically to your riding needs, crafted from premium materials, and backed by years of exhaust development expertise.
Why the kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier) Exhaust Kit Stands Apart
When Kawasaki launched the Z1000-SX, they created a machine that balanced sport bike aggression with long-distance touring capability. The challenge for aftermarket exhaust manufacturers has always been accommodating the pannier frames that make the Z1000-SX such a practical choice for everyday riders and weekend adventurers alike. Too many exhausts on the market are designed for stripped-down track bikes or urban naked machines, creating clearance nightmares when you need to mount luggage.
The kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier) kit from Max Torque Cans eliminates that compromise entirely. Every bend, every mounting point, and every millimetre of clearance has been carefully calculated to ensure your panniers sit exactly where they should, with zero interference from your new performance pipework.
This isn’t just about clearance, though. The engineering behind this system focuses on optimising exhaust gas flow through precision CNC mandrel-bent stainless steel link pipes. Unlike crush-bent alternatives that restrict internal diameter at every curve, mandrel bending maintains consistent bore throughout, allowing exhaust gases to exit more efficiently. The result is improved throttle response, crisper power delivery in the mid-range, and that distinctive deep note that transforms every ride.
Whether you’re carving through Welsh mountain passes or filtering through London traffic, the difference is immediately noticeable.
Complete Kit Contents for the kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier)
Max Torque Cans believes in delivering complete solutions, not half-measures. Your kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier) exhaust kit arrives with everything needed for a professional-quality installation:
- 2 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipes — manufactured from premium-grade 304 stainless steel, these pipes offer exceptional corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The mandrel bending process ensures smooth internal surfaces and consistent diameter throughout every bend, maximising exhaust flow and power gains.
- 2 x Stainless Exhaust Straps — robust mounting straps engineered to secure your silencer cans firmly in place, even under hard acceleration and aggressive riding conditions. Heat-resistant and built to last.
- 2 x Exhaust Strap Rubbers — high-quality rubber isolators that prevent metal-on-metal contact, reduce vibration transmission, and ensure your exhaust remains securely mounted and rattle-free mile after mile.
The quality of the 304 stainless steel construction cannot be overstated. This marine-grade material resists oxidation, withstands the extreme thermal cycling of high-performance riding, and maintains its appearance even after years of British weather. Unlike cheaper mild steel alternatives that rust and discolour within months, these link pipes will look as good in five years as they do on installation day.
Fitment and Compatibility Details for kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier) Owners
One of the greatest strengths of this exhaust system is its straightforward bolt-on fitment. The link pipes are engineered to connect directly to your existing OEM downpipes, eliminating any need for cutting, welding, or permanent modification to your motorcycle. This makes installation accessible to home mechanics with basic tools and preserves the option to return to stock configuration if needed.
The system is compatible with all Kawasaki Z1000-SX models manufactured between 2010 and 2019, covering the entire production run of this popular sport-tourer.
The pannier-compatible design is what truly sets this kit apart from generic alternatives. During development, extensive test fitting was conducted with both factory Kawasaki pannier frames and popular aftermarket luggage systems to ensure proper clearance in all configurations. This attention to detail means you can load up for a European tour or daily commute without worrying about exhaust contact, heat damage to your luggage, or compromised ground clearance.
For riders exploring other Kawasaki performance options, Max Torque Cans also offers excellent systems for models like the Kawasaki Z650 RS Stainless De-Cat System & Rear Silencer, demonstrating our commitment to serving the entire Kawasaki lineup with model-specific solutions.
Installation Tips and Best Practices
While the kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier) kit is designed for straightforward installation, following these professional tips will ensure optimal results:
- Always work on a completely cool engine. Hot exhaust components can cause serious burns and make accurate fitting impossible.
- Apply copper anti-seize compound to all mating surfaces, particularly where the link pipes join the OEM downpipes. This prevents corrosion welding and makes future maintenance significantly easier.
- Fit all components loosely first, allowing you to check alignment and clearances before final tightening. This is especially important for ensuring proper pannier clearance.
- Torque all fasteners to manufacturer specifications, working in a cross-pattern where multiple bolts secure a single component.
- After your first 50-mile ride, re-check all mounting hardware. Thermal cycling can cause slight settling, and a quick inspection ensures everything remains secure.
Most competent home mechanics will complete installation within an hour. If you prefer professional fitting, any reputable motorcycle workshop will handle the job quickly and efficiently. According to industry guidance from organisations like the Motorcycle Industry Association, proper exhaust installation is critical not only for performance but also for safety and emissions compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this exhaust work with aftermarket pannier systems?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. The clearance engineered into this system accommodates both OEM Kawasaki panniers and most popular aftermarket luggage frames. If you’re running an unusual or heavily modified pannier setup, contact our team before ordering and we’ll confirm compatibility.
Is a remap required after fitting this exhaust?
For the link pipe kit alone, a remap is not essential as you’re retaining the standard downpipes and catalytic converter. However, if you’re also fitting a high-flow aftermarket silencer, an ECU remap or fuel controller will unlock additional performance gains and ensure optimal fuelling across the rev range.
What about road legality?
The link pipe system itself is a performance upgrade component. When paired with an appropriately certified silencer, the complete system can remain road legal. Always ensure any silencer you choose meets UK noise and emissions regulations if you’re riding on public roads.
Which silencer cans are compatible?
This link pipe kit is designed to work with a wide range of aftermarket silencers. Contact Max Torque Cans directly and our team will recommend the perfect match for your budget, performance goals, and aesthetic preferences.
The Kawasaki Z1000-SX is a brilliant machine that deserves an exhaust system engineered to the same standard. Order your kawasaki z1000-sx 2010 – 2019 (with pannier) performance exhaust kit from Max Torque Cans today and experience the transformation for yourself.
