Aprilia RS660 2020

Price range: £ 147.06 through £ 350.88

The aprilia rs660 2020 is one of the most exciting middleweight sportsbikes to arrive on British roads in years, and at Max Torque Cans we have developed a performance exhaust package specifically engineered to unlock everything this machine has to offer. Whether you are blasting down a favourite B-road or pushing hard on track day, our bespoke setup for the aprilia rs660 2020 delivers the power, sound, and weight savings that factory exhausts simply cannot match.

Our Performance Exhaust Package for the Aprilia RS660 2020

After extensive development and real-world testing, we made a deliberate decision to retain the stock OEM front headers on the aprilia rs660 2020 setup. Why? Because after thorough dyno and fitment testing, we found that performance simply cannot be improved by replacing the front section — Aprilia have done an excellent job there straight from the factory. What we have developed is a precision Ø60mm rear section that works in perfect harmony with those headers, paired with a silencer of your choice, to produce a genuinely transformative result.

Every aprilia rs660 2020 exhaust package from Max Torque Cans includes the following components as standard:

  • 1 x Ø60mm Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent De-Cat Link Pipe — engineered for unrestricted flow and maximum performance gains
  • 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — high-grade stainless for lasting durability and secure fitment
  • 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — reduces vibration and protects your can from unnecessary wear
  • 1 x Exhaust Hanger Footrest Bracket — purpose-built bracket ensuring a rock-solid, rattle-free installation

Each component is manufactured to exacting standards here in the UK, and the complete aprilia rs660 2020 package is designed for a precise, no-fuss fit straight out of the box.

Engineering Details: The Aprilia RS660 2020 De-Cat Link Pipe

The heart of this setup is the Ø60mm Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent De-Cat Link Pipe. CNC mandrel bending is the gold standard in exhaust fabrication — it ensures a perfectly consistent internal bore throughout every curve, eliminating the flow restrictions that cheaper crush-bent alternatives introduce. The result is smoother, faster-moving exhaust gases, reduced back pressure, and a noticeable improvement in throttle response across the entire rev range.

Grade 304 stainless steel is specified for its exceptional resistance to heat, corrosion, and the general punishment that motorcycling in the UK involves. This is not a component that will discolour, pit, or corrode after a wet winter — it is built to last for the long term on your aprilia rs660 2020.

The de-cat design removes the restrictive catalytic converter from the exhaust path, freeing up flow for maximum road and track performance. Our exhausts are engineered to deliver meaningful power gains without requiring any fuelling changes on a standard bike. However, if your aprilia rs660 2020 already runs an aftermarket air filter, a de-cat, or any other performance modification, we would always recommend having the fuelling mapped by a professional — it will complement the engine’s performance and efficiency considerably.

Silencer Choice for the Aprilia RS660 2020

One of the best aspects of our aprilia rs660 2020 package is the freedom to select your preferred silencer. Whether you want an aggressive race-inspired bark, a deep sporting note for the road, or something in between, we offer a range of cans to suit your riding style and intended use. Get in touch with the Max Torque Cans team if you need any guidance choosing the right can for your aprilia rs660 2020 — we are always happy to advise.

Fitment and Installation Notes for the Aprilia RS660 2020

Fitting the Max Torque Cans performance exhaust to your aprilia rs660 2020 is a straightforward process for any competent home mechanic, and a quick, simple job for any motorcycle workshop. The package retains the OEM front headers, meaning you are only replacing the rear section — which significantly simplifies the installation and reduces the time on the stand.

The purpose-built exhaust hanger footrest bracket is a key part of the package. It is designed specifically for the aprilia rs660 2020 and ensures the rear section is correctly supported, preventing stress on the joints and keeping everything tight and rattle-free in use. The stainless exhaust strap and rubber are included to complete the installation cleanly and securely.

  • Retains stock OEM front headers for straightforward fitting
  • All mounting hardware included in the package
  • No fuelling changes required on a standard aprilia rs660 2020
  • Professional installation recommended if you are unsure
  • Suitable for road and track use

Frequently Asked Questions — Aprilia RS660 2020 Performance Exhaust

Will I need to remap my aprilia rs660 2020 after fitting this exhaust?

On a stock aprilia rs660 2020 with no other modifications, no remap is required. Our performance exhaust is developed to work within the standard fuelling parameters. If you have an aftermarket air filter, de-cat, or other engine modifications already in place, we do recommend a professional fuelling remap to get the very best results.

Why do you keep the OEM front headers on the aprilia rs660 2020?

Through our own development and testing, we found that the factory front headers on the aprilia rs660 2020 are already very well engineered. We could find no meaningful performance or fitment improvement from replacing them, so we chose not to. Keeping the OEM front section keeps the installation simple and the costs sensible without compromising results.

Is this package suitable for track use?

Yes. The aprilia rs660 2020 performance exhaust from Max Torque Cans is developed with both road and track use in mind. The de-cat link pipe, quality stainless construction, and secure mounting hardware all make it well suited to the demands of track day use.

Can I choose my own silencer?

Absolutely — the silencer is selected at the time of purchase, giving you the flexibility to choose the sound and style that suits you best on your aprilia rs660 2020.

Design
The current Aprilia Tuono is designed as a streetfighter with a lot of electronic aids such as multi-level traction control, ABS, Wheelie control, launch control, and AQS(Aprilia Quick Shift electronic System). Since 2002, a lot of changes have been made but the basics character of the bike almost remains almost the same.

2002 Aprilia Tuono R Limited
Following the 2001 Bologna Motor Show, the Aprilia Tuono made its debut in a series of 220 individually numbered bikes. Called the Tuono R Limited and in hindsight is a proof of concept for the future RSV Tuono Factory, it had the 94.9 kW (129.0 PS; 127.3 hp) engine of the RSV Mille R, a gold-colored frame and was built solely out of high-end materials such as carbon fiber, kevlar, and titanium. Specs included Öhlins Racing suspension, OZ forged alloy wheels, Brembo 4-pad brake calipers, and an Aprilia Racing titanium exhaust system with matching EEPROM.

2002 – 2005 RSV Tuono (known as the Tuono Fighter for 2003 in the US market)
The roots of the RSV Tuono lie with the 1998 – 2003 RSV Mille superbike. The original 2003-2005 RSV Tuono uses the 2002 Mille frame, engine, suspension, and brakes. The majority of parts are interchangeable between Mille and Tuono models up until the introduction of the RSV 1000 R which replaced the Mille. One minor difference is that the RSV Tuono is fitted with a steering damper as standard whereas the RSV Mille is not. The reason for this is to avoid potential speed wobble under full acceleration due to the motocross-style handlebars atop high machined ergal risers causing the rider to sit more upright, resulting in less weight over the front wheel. The main difference is the lack of significant bodywork (fairings).

The base model Tuono (known as the Tuono Fighter in the US market for 2003 and as the RSV Tuono for the 2004-2005 models) and the high spec Tuono Factory all share the same frame-mounted bikini fairing and body covers, either in plastic for the base model or carbon fibre for the Factory models. The frame and swingarm of the 2003 Tuono (Tuono Fighter in the US market) was a light bronze color, whereas the 2004 and 2005 models sported a black frame and swingarm. This contrasted with the frames used on the RSV Mille which were a chrome finish for the base models and black for the Racing/Factory models. The Tuono base models feature an adjustable Sachs rear shock absorber and Showa front suspension.

The RSV Tuono uses the Austrian built BRP-Rotax V990 60° V-Twin engine which can also be found in numerous other Aprilia models. It sports dual overhead cams, double balance shafts, 4 valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, twin spark ignition, and the same two-into-one exhaust as used on the RSV Mille. In the RSV Tuono, the V990 delivers 92 kW (125 PS; 123 hp) @ 9500 rpm and 10.3 kg⋅m (101 N⋅m; 75 lb-ft) @ 7250 rpm.[citation needed] Its fuel tank will hold 18 L (4.8 gals) and has a maximum range of 280 km (175 mi) on the highway before the low fuel indicator turns on. Fuel consumption increases significantly with aggressive throttle use.

2003 – 2005 RSV Tuono Factory
The RSV Tuono Factory is a high spec model based upon the Aprilia RSV Mille R. Compared to the standard RSV Tuono it has forged alloy wheels, gold anodized Öhlins Racing front forks, fully adjustable Öhlins Racing rear mono-shock, a fully adjustable Öhlins Racing steering damper, radially mounted Brembo brake calipers and it extensively uses carbon fiber parts for weight reduction.
