What’s Included with the BMW R1200GS Adventure 2006–2009 Exhaust Package
Every bmw r1200gs adventure 2006–2009 exhaust package from Max Torque Cans comes complete with everything you need for a straightforward, professional-quality fitment. There’s no hunting around for additional components or making do with generic hardware — it’s all here, ready to go.
- 1 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipe — precision-engineered for a perfect OEM downpipe match
- 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — robust and corrosion-resistant for long-lasting security
- 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — cushions vibration and protects against wear at the mounting point
The centrepiece of this package is the Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipe. Grade 304 stainless steel is widely regarded as the gold standard in exhaust fabrication — it’s tough, heat-resistant, and highly resistant to the corrosion that British roads and unpredictable weather can throw at it. CNC mandrel bending ensures smooth, unrestricted bends throughout the pipe, which means exhaust gases flow freely and efficiently rather than being constricted at the bends. This translates directly into improved throttle response and a more satisfying riding experience on your bmw r1200gs adventure 2006–2009.
Fitment and Installation Notes for the BMW R1200GS Adventure 2006–2009
One of the biggest selling points of this exhaust is how cleanly it integrates with your existing setup. The link pipe is designed to bolt directly onto the standard OEM downpipes of the bmw r1200gs adventure 2006–2009, which means there’s no need to modify your original headers or invest in additional adaptors. It’s a direct-fit solution that respects the engineering of your GS while giving it a genuine performance and aesthetic upgrade.
Installation is well within the capability of a competent home mechanic, though as always we’d recommend having the work carried out by a qualified technician if you’re in any doubt. Allow the engine to cool fully before beginning work, and take care when removing the original hardware — particularly on older bikes where heat cycles may have caused some corrosion around the mounting points.
A few practical tips when fitting your bmw r1200gs adventure 2006–2009 exhaust:
- Use penetrating fluid on any stubborn bolts the night before you plan to carry out the work
- Check all gasket faces for damage or carbon build-up before fitting the new link pipe
- Torque all fixings to the manufacturer’s recommended settings — don’t rely on feel alone
- Run the engine for a short period after fitting and re-check all fixings once everything has gone through a heat cycle
- The exhaust strap rubber should be seated correctly before tightening — this cushion is important for long-term durability

Why Stainless 304 Is the Right Choice for the BMW R1200GS Adventure 2006–2009
If you’re going to upgrade the exhaust on your bmw r1200gs adventure 2006–2009, it makes sense to do it once and do it properly. Grade 304 stainless steel offers outstanding resistance to oxidation and corrosion, making it ideal for a machine that’s designed to go anywhere — and often does. Unlike mild steel exhausts that can start to show rust within a season or two, a properly maintained stainless exhaust will retain its appearance and structural integrity for years.
The CNC mandrel bending process used in the production of this link pipe is another key quality indicator. Traditional bending methods can cause the pipe wall to collapse or thin at the bends, creating turbulence and restriction in the gas flow. CNC mandrel bending maintains a consistent internal diameter throughout every curve, ensuring that your bmw r1200gs adventure 2006–2009 breathes as freely as possible through the exhaust side.
This isn’t a budget aftermarket part thrown together to a price point — it’s a quality component manufactured to last and to perform. When you invest in a Max Torque Cans exhaust for your bmw r1200gs adventure 2006–2009, you’re investing in something built to go the distance, just like the bike itself.

Specifically, two changes detailed below:
Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). These baffles are an integral part of our design to ensure that your motorcycle exhaust complies with road regulations, providing you with a legal and enjoyable riding experience.
Race Exhausts and Silencers: For those seeking an exhilarating experience on the track, our race exhausts are engineered to deliver optimal performance. Clearly marked with type approval markings “Not for Road Use” etched into the side, these exhausts are specifically designed for racing applications. This distinction is in line with DVSA policy, ensuring that our race exhausts are suitable for track use, meeting the highest performance standards without compromising on safety.
