Whether you’re restoring your ZX9R to its former glory or simply want to breathe new life into a machine you’ve owned for years, this exhaust package is built with the care and craftsmanship that the kawasaki zx9r b 1994-1997 deserves. Every component has been selected for durability, fitment accuracy, and long-term performance — because this bike is worth getting right.

What’s Included with Your Kawasaki ZX9R B 1994-1997 Exhaust Package

This exhaust kit has been put together to give you everything you need for a clean, straightforward installation. There’s no hunting around for additional parts or making compromises on quality. Here’s exactly what you’ll receive:

  • 1 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipe — crafted from premium 304-grade stainless steel and shaped using a CNC mandrel bending process to ensure perfectly consistent bore throughout the pipe, eliminating any restrictions to gas flow.
  • 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — a robust stainless steel mounting strap providing a secure and rattle-free connection between the link pipe and your chosen can.
  • 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — a high-quality rubber buffer insert that sits within the strap to absorb vibration and protect the finish of your silencer over time.

This is a slip-on fitment, meaning the link pipe is designed to mate directly with the standard OEM downpipes on the kawasaki zx9r b 1994-1997 without any modification. If your original downpipes are in good condition, installation is clean, straightforward, and reversible.

Why Choose a Performance Exhaust for Your Kawasaki ZX9R B 1994-1997?

The kawasaki zx9r b 1994-1997 produced an impressive 143bhp from its 899cc inline-four engine when new — a genuinely formidable figure for the era. However, those standard silencers were designed to meet strict noise and emissions regulations, which inevitably means the factory setup is somewhat restrictive. By replacing the stock end can and fitting a free-flowing link pipe, you allow the engine to breathe more efficiently, which can contribute to a sharper throttle response and a far more rewarding sound profile.

Beyond outright performance, the visual impact of a quality stainless exhaust on a classic ZX9R cannot be understated. A well-fitted can transforms the side profile of the bike, giving it a purposeful, race-ready aesthetic that suits the machine’s aggressive character perfectly. Whether you’re taking it to track days, bike meets, or simply enjoying long weekend blasts, a performance exhaust makes every ride feel like an occasion.

Precision Fitment for the Kawasaki ZX9R B 1994-1997

One of the most common frustrations when fitting aftermarket exhausts to older machines is poor fitment — gaps, fouling against bodywork, or misaligned mounting points. With this kit, fitment has been developed specifically around the kawasaki zx9r b 1994-1997 platform, so you can expect the link pipe to align cleanly with the OEM downpipes and sit correctly within the original mounting geometry of the bike.

The CNC mandrel bending process used to form the link pipe is particularly important here. Unlike cheaper press-bent alternatives, mandrel bending maintains a consistent internal diameter around every curve. This means gas flows through the pipe without turbulence or restriction, ensuring you get the full benefit of switching to a freer-flowing setup. The 304-grade stainless steel construction also means this link pipe will resist corrosion over many years of use, even when exposed to the salt, rain, and road grime typical of British riding conditions.

Installation Notes for the Kawasaki ZX9R B 1994-1997

Fitting this exhaust to your kawasaki zx9r b 1994-1997 is a job well within the capabilities of any mechanically confident home mechanic. Here are a few practical tips to help ensure a smooth installation:

  • Always work on a cold engine. Exhaust components retain heat for a considerable time after running. Allow the bike to cool fully before attempting any removal or installation work.
  • Inspect your OEM downpipes first. This kit is designed to work with standard downpipes that are in good, undamaged condition. If yours are corroded, cracked, or deformed at the collector, address those issues before fitting the new link pipe.
  • Use copper grease on joints. A thin application of copper anti-seize compound at the link pipe join will prevent the joint seizing up over time, making any future removal far easier.
  • Check clearances carefully. Once fitted, rotate the bars lock to lock and check that no part of the exhaust or strap fouls on the frame, bodywork, or footrest hangers at any point.
  • Torque to specification. Don’t overtighten the exhaust strap — apply firm, even pressure sufficient to hold the can securely without crushing the rubber buffer.
