The ducati st2-st3 is a machine built for riders who demand both sport and touring performance in equal measure, and it deserves an exhaust that matches that ambition. At Max Torque Cans, we’ve developed a precision-engineered performance exhaust specifically designed to bolt straight onto the ducati st2-st3, giving you improved flow, a sharper exhaust note, and a cleaner, more purposeful look at the rear of the bike. Whether you’re carving up country roads or clocking motorway miles, this is the upgrade your ST deserves.
Why Upgrade the Ducati ST2-ST3 Exhaust?
The standard factory silencer on the ducati st2-st3 is functional, but it’s built to meet noise regulations and cost targets — not to extract the best from Ducati’s iconic L-twin engine. Fitting a quality aftermarket performance exhaust opens up the breathing of the engine, reduces unnecessary back-pressure, and lets that distinctive Ducati sound come through with far more character and authority. The result is a more responsive throttle, a more engaging ride, and a bike that sounds every bit as exciting as it looks.
Our ducati st2-st3 exhaust is crafted from premium materials and manufactured to exacting standards, so you’re not just buying a louder pipe — you’re investing in a component that’s built to last and perform over thousands of miles of real-world riding.
What’s Included with the Ducati ST2-ST3 Performance Exhaust Kit?
We believe in giving you everything you need to get the job done properly. Every ducati st2-st3 exhaust kit from Max Torque Cans includes the following components as standard:
- 2 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipes — precision-formed from high-grade 304 stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance and optimum gas flow
- 2 x Stainless Exhaust Straps — robust mounting straps engineered to keep everything securely in place, even under sustained high-temperature use
- 2 x Exhaust Strap Rubbers — vibration-dampening rubbers that protect both the bike’s frame and the exhaust itself from unnecessary wear and rattling
The link pipes are the heart of this kit. CNC mandrel bending ensures that every curve in the pipe maintains a consistent internal diameter throughout the bend — unlike crush-bent pipes, which can restrict flow at the tightest points. This matters enormously on the ducati st2-st3, where getting the most out of the L-twin’s breathing characteristics is key to unlocking real-world performance gains.
Fitment Details for the Ducati ST2-ST3
This exhaust is engineered to fit directly onto the standard OEM downpipes of the ducati st2-st3, meaning there’s no requirement for complex fabrication work or specialist tools beyond a typical home garage setup. The kit is designed to mate cleanly with the factory headers, making the installation process as straightforward as possible for a competent home mechanic or a Ducati-friendly workshop.
Fitment is direct and secure, with the included stainless straps and strap rubbers providing everything required to mount the cans correctly. The rubbers are particularly important — they isolate the silencer from vibration, reducing the risk of fatigue cracking over time and keeping the exhaust sitting tight and rattle-free on the ducati st2-st3 frame.
As always, we recommend fitting with the bike cold, torquing all fasteners to the appropriate settings, and running the engine through a few heat cycles before riding hard. This allows all gaskets and joints to bed in properly and ensures a long-lasting, leak-free installation on your ducati st2-st3.
Material Quality on the Ducati ST2-ST3 Link Pipes
We use 304 grade stainless steel throughout the link pipe construction on our ducati st2-st3 kit. This is a marine-grade stainless alloy with outstanding resistance to the heat, moisture, and road contamination that motorcycle exhausts are subjected to year-round in British conditions. Unlike mild steel or chrome-plated alternatives, 304 stainless will not rust out or require repainting — it simply ages gracefully and keeps performing.
The CNC mandrel bending process we use ensures that the internal bore of each pipe is uncompromised at every angle. This means gas flows freely and consistently from the engine’s downpipes through to the cans, which is exactly what the ducati st2-st3 engine needs to breathe at its best.
Ducati ST2-ST3 — Frequently Asked Questions
Will this exhaust fit both the ST2 and the ST3?
Yes. This kit is designed to cover both the ducati st2-st3 range. If you’re unsure about your specific model year or configuration, please get in touch with the Max Torque Cans team and we’ll confirm fitment before you order.
Do I need to remap or rejet the bike after fitting?
In most cases, fitting this kit to a ducati st2-st3 with standard carburettors or fuel injection will not require an immediate remap, as the change in back-pressure is modest. However, for maximum performance and to ensure the fuelling remains optimal, a carburettor rejetting or ECU map adjustment is always worth considering. We recommend consulting a Ducati specialist for advice specific to your setup.
Is this a direct replacement for the OEM silencer?
Yes, this is designed as a direct bolt-on performance upgrade for the ducati st2-st3, mating to the standard factory downpipes without modification.
Is this road legal?
This is a performance exhaust intended for use in accordance with applicable road traffic legislation. Customers are responsible for ensuring their ducati st2-st3 complies with all relevant noise and emissions regulations. If in doubt, please seek independent advice.
What other Ducati models does Max Torque Cans supply exhausts for?
We stock performance exhausts for a wide range of Ducati models. If you own or are considering a related model, take a look at our DUCATI ST4 1999 – 2005 page, which covers the closely related ST4 variant. We also offer fitments for the Ducati 900SS 1988 – 2007 and the Ducati 750SS 1991 – 2002.
