Why Choose the Max Torque Cans Exhaust for Your Kawasaki ZX-10R 2004-2005?
The kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005 was a landmark motorcycle when it arrived — a razor-sharp, track-focused superbike that rewrote the rulebook for inline-four performance. Its engineering deserves an exhaust to match. At Max Torque Cans, we’ve developed this performance silencer specifically to complement the existing characteristics of the ZX-10R, enhancing its aural presence and improving the overall aesthetic without compromising reliability or rideability.
This isn’t a generic, one-size-fits-none solution. Every exhaust we produce is tailored to the specific model it’s intended for, and the kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005 is no exception. Our team has taken care to ensure that the fitment is clean, precise, and straightforward, so you can spend less time in the garage and more time on the road where it belongs.
What’s Included with the Kawasaki ZX-10R 2004-2005 Exhaust Kit?
When your order arrives, you’ll find everything you need to get fitted up and riding. The package includes:
- 1 x Performance Silencer — the main can, finished to a high standard and built to last
- 3-bolt fitting — a solid, secure connection that won’t rattle loose on hard acceleration or rough roads
- 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — durable and corrosion-resistant, built for the British climate
- 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — to protect your bodywork and dampen vibration for a cleaner, quieter mounting
This exhaust is made to fit straight to the standard OEM downpipes on the kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005, meaning there’s no need for specialist machining, custom fabrication, or any aftermarket mid-pipes. It’s a true bolt-on upgrade, accessible to any competent home mechanic as well as professional workshop fitters alike.
Fitment and Installation Notes for the Kawasaki ZX-10R 2004-2005
One of the biggest advantages of this silencer is just how straightforward the installation process is. The kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005 uses a standard set of OEM downpipes that are well suited to aftermarket slip-on cans, and our exhaust has been designed with this in mind from the outset.
Here’s a brief overview of what to expect during fitting:
- Remove the original standard silencer from the OEM downpipe — this is typically secured with a clamp and a bracket bolt
- Offer up the Max Torque Cans silencer to the downpipe outlet and check alignment before tightening
- Fit the stainless exhaust strap around the can and attach it to the appropriate frame or subframe mounting point
- Insert the exhaust strap rubber between the strap and the bodywork to protect the paintwork and reduce vibration
- Secure the 3-bolt connection at the downpipe flange and torque to manufacturer specifications
- Double-check all fixings are tight before running the engine for the first time
We always recommend carrying out a short heat cycle after installation — run the bike up to operating temperature, allow it to cool fully, and then re-check the tightness of all fixings. This is standard good practice with any new performance can and helps ensure a long-lasting, rattle-free fit on your kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005.

Performance and Sound — What to Expect from the Kawasaki ZX-10R 2004-2005 Exhaust
Fitting a quality aftermarket can to the kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005 makes an immediately noticeable difference. The standard OEM silencer is heavy, deliberately muted for road homologation, and frankly does little justice to the fury of the ZX-10R’s inline-four engine. Once you swap it out for the Max Torque Cans unit, you’ll notice:
- Improved exhaust note — a deeper, more aggressive tone through the mid-range and a satisfying crack on overrun
- Weight reduction — the stock can is considerably heavier than our aftermarket unit, lowering unsprung and overall mass
- Cleaner tail-end aesthetics — the silhouette of the rear of the bike is notably tidier and more purposeful in appearance
- Durable construction — built to withstand heat, vibration, and the harsh British weather without premature corrosion or failure
It’s worth noting that while this is a slip-on performance silencer rather than a full de-cat system, many riders of the kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005 find the improvement in sound and character to be substantial even without altering the downpipes or headers. If you’re after a more dramatic performance transformation further down the line, you can always revisit a full system upgrade at a later stage.
Frequently Asked Questions — Kawasaki ZX-10R 2004-2005 Exhaust
Will this exhaust fit my Kawasaki ZX-10R 2004-2005 without any modifications?
Yes. This silencer is designed to bolt directly onto the standard OEM downpipes of the kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005 with no cutting, welding, or modification required. Everything you need for a clean installation is included in the kit.
Do I need to remap my bike after fitting this can?
A slip-on silencer swap on the kawasaki zx-10r 2004-2005 generally does not require a remap, as the fuelling changes introduced by a rear silencer alone are relatively minor. However, if you later combine this with a de-cat or full headers swap, a remap would be advisable to get the most from your setup.
Is this exhaust road legal?
We advise all customers to check the noise and emissions regulations applicable in their region. Our silencers are sold as performance aftermarket parts. Responsibility for road legality and compliance with local legislation rests with the individual rider.

Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). These baffles are an integral part of our design to ensure that your motorcycle exhaust complies with road regulations, providing you with a legal and enjoyable riding experience.
Race Exhausts and Silencers: For those seeking an exhilarating experience on the track, our race exhausts are engineered to deliver optimal performance. Clearly marked with type approval markings “Not for Road Use” etched into the side, these exhausts are specifically designed for racing applications. This distinction is in line with DVSA policy, ensuring that our race exhausts are suitable for track use, meeting the highest performance standards without compromising on safety.
