What’s Included in Your ducati st4 1999 – 2005 Exhaust Fitment Kit
We believe in supplying everything you need to complete a proper, confident installation. Every kit for the ducati st4 1999 – 2005 is supplied complete and ready to fit, with no hidden extras or frustrating trips to the hardware shop. Here’s exactly what you’ll find in the box:
- 2 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipes — precision-formed for a perfect fit to the ST4’s standard OEM downpipes
- 2 x Stainless Exhaust Straps — durable, corrosion-resistant mounting straps built to last
- 2 x Exhaust Strap Rubbers — vibration-dampening rubbers to protect your silencer mounting points and reduce unwanted noise
The use of Grade 304 Stainless Steel throughout is no accident. It’s a material that resists heat, corrosion, and road salt — exactly what you need from a performance exhaust on a machine that’s designed to cover serious miles in all weathers. The CNC mandrel bending process ensures that the internal diameter of each link pipe remains consistent throughout every bend, meaning exhaust gases flow freely without restriction. That translates directly to improved throttle response and a more linear power delivery across the rev range.
Fitment Guide for the ducati st4 1999 – 2005
This performance exhaust is engineered to fit straight to the standard OEM downpipes of the ducati st4 1999 – 2005, covering model years from 1999 right through to 2005. There’s no cutting, no welding, and no specialist workshop equipment required — this is a clean, bolt-on upgrade that any competent home mechanic can carry out with basic hand tools.
Before fitting, we’d always recommend giving the OEM downpipe connections a good clean to remove any carbon build-up or corrosion that may have developed over the years. A light application of copper grease on the slip joints will make future removal considerably easier and help prevent the pipes from seizing. Allow the engine to cool fully before you begin, and make sure all fixings are torqued correctly once you’re done.
Installation Tips Specific to the ducati st4 1999 – 2005
The ST4’s engine layout means access to the lower exhaust mounting points can be a little tight, so it’s worth removing the lower fairing panels before you start — it’ll make the whole job considerably more straightforward. Offer both link pipes up loosely before tightening anything fully, as this allows you to align everything correctly and ensure the silencers hang true before you commit. Once you’re happy with the positioning, work from front to back, tightening progressively rather than fully torquing one point at a time. This prevents any undue stress on the stainless pipes and gives you the cleanest, most professional-looking finish.
Once fitted, run the engine from cold and allow it to reach full operating temperature before going for your first ride. You may notice a light smoke from the new stainless components during this initial heat cycle — this is completely normal and will clear after a short run.
