- Frequently Asked Questions — Kawasaki Versys SE KLZ1000 2020-
The kawasaki versys se klz1000 2020- is one of the most accomplished adventure tourers available to British riders today, combining genuine long-distance comfort with surprisingly spirited performance and exceptional build quality. If you’re looking to extract even more character, power, and presence from this impressive parallel-twin machine, upgrading to a precision-engineered performance exhaust is one of the smartest modifications you can make.
Here at Max Torque Cans, we’ve developed a stainless steel link pipe specifically for the Kawasaki Versys SE KLZ1000 2020 onwards, designed to bolt straight onto your bike without any fabrication, cutting, or compromise. Whether you’re after sharper throttle response, a more purposeful exhaust note, or simply want to shed some unnecessary weight ahead of your next European tour, this upgrade delivers exactly what your Versys has been waiting for.
Crafted right here in the UK by riders who genuinely understand what motorcyclists demand from their exhausts, our products are built to last and engineered to perform. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t sell anything we wouldn’t trust on our own bikes. That’s the Max Torque Cans promise — quality you can hear, feel, and depend on mile after mile.
What’s Included with Your Kawasaki Versys SE KLZ1000 2020- Link Pipe Kit
Every kit we supply for the kawasaki versys se klz1000 2020- arrives complete with everything you need to carry out a clean, professional installation. There are no hidden extras, no need to source additional hardware from your local motor factors, and no nasty surprises when you open the box. Here’s exactly what you’ll receive with your order:
- 1 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipe — precision-formed for perfect gas flow and a factory-quality finish
- 1 x Stainless Exhaust Strap — durable and corrosion-resistant for secure, long-lasting fitment
- 1 x Exhaust Strap Rubber — isolates vibration and protects both the strap and surrounding components
The link pipe itself is manufactured from 304 grade stainless steel, a material chosen specifically for its exceptional resistance to heat, corrosion, and the kind of punishment that comes with year-round British riding conditions. The CNC mandrel bending process ensures that the internal bore of the pipe maintains a consistent diameter throughout every curve, which translates directly into improved gas flow, reduced back pressure, and ultimately a more responsive, free-breathing performance exhaust setup for your Versys.
This isn’t just about sound — it’s about giving your engine the breathing room it deserves.
Fitment Details for the Kawasaki Versys SE KLZ1000 2020-
One of the standout qualities of this link pipe is just how straightforward it is to fit. The kawasaki versys se klz1000 2020- link pipe is engineered to mate directly with the standard OEM downpipes already fitted to your bike. There’s no welding, no cutting, and absolutely no modification required to your existing pipework. It’s a genuine bolt-on upgrade — exactly as it should be.
This makes the link pipe an ideal choice whether you’re a seasoned home mechanic working out of your own garage or someone who prefers to hand the job over to a trusted local workshop. The installation is clean, repeatable, and fully reversible if you ever need to return the bike to standard specification for resale or warranty purposes.
We’ve also filmed a number of videos showing the fitting process and the dramatic sound difference this upgrade makes on the kawasaki versys se klz1000 2020-, so you can hear and see exactly what you’re getting before you commit to buying. Check the YouTube links on this page for real-world demonstrations filmed by our own team.
Why the Kawasaki Versys SE KLZ1000 2020- Deserves Better Than Standard
The stock exhaust fitted to the kawasaki versys se klz1000 2020- is designed primarily to meet stringent noise and emissions regulations, not to maximise performance or rider enjoyment. While it’s perfectly functional, it’s also quite restrictive and adds unnecessary weight to what is already a fairly substantial motorcycle. By upgrading to a high-flow link pipe, you’re giving the engine the breathing room it needs to perform as Kawasaki’s engineers always intended — without the regulatory shackles imposed by Euro 5 compliance.
Riders who have already made the switch consistently report a noticeable improvement in throttle response throughout the mid-range, a more characterful and engaging exhaust note that suits the big parallel-twin engine beautifully, and a general feeling that the bike is more alive and eager to rev. It’s the kind of upgrade that changes how you feel about your ride every single time you twist the throttle.
If you’re familiar with our work on models like the Kawasaki Z650 RS Stainless De-Cat System & Rear Silencer, you’ll already know the level of quality and attention to detail we put into every product we build.
Please note: a de-cat link pipe for this model is also coming soon, so if you’re looking to go a step further in terms of performance gains and sound, keep an eye on our product listings for updates.
Installation Tips for Your Kawasaki Versys SE KLZ1000 2020- Link Pipe
While fitting is straightforward, there are a few practical tips that will make the job even smoother and ensure a long-lasting, rattle-free result:
- Allow the engine to cool completely before attempting any work on the existing exhaust. This is especially important on a large-displacement engine like the KLZ1000.
- Use a quality copper exhaust paste on the slip joints to aid sealing and prevent the connections from seizing over time.
- Check all fixings after the first 50 miles — heat cycling can cause fittings to settle slightly, and a brief re-torque after the first ride will keep everything snug.
- Inspect the strap rubber periodically to ensure it hasn’t perished, particularly if the bike is used regularly in adverse weather conditions.
- Pair with a compatible rear silencer or can to get the most from your new link pipe and achieve the best possible sound and performance gain across the rev range.
