What’s Included in Your Kawasaki Z1000 2003-2006 Exhaust Kit

When your Max Torque Cans exhaust kit arrives, you’ll immediately notice the attention to detail and build quality. Every component is selected for durability, performance, and precise fitment. Here’s exactly what comes with your kawasaki z1000 2003-2006 link pipe exhaust system:

  • 2 x Stainless 304 CNC Mandrel Bent Link Pipes — Each pipe is crafted from premium-grade 304 stainless steel and precision-formed using CNC mandrel bending technology. This manufacturing process maintains a consistent bore diameter throughout every bend, eliminating turbulence and maximising exhaust gas flow for optimal performance and throttle response.
  • 2 x Stainless Exhaust Straps — Robust stainless steel mounting straps engineered to provide secure, vibration-resistant attachment for your silencer, ensuring long-term reliability even under hard riding conditions.
  • 2 x Exhaust Strap Rubbers — High-temperature rubber insulators that cushion the mounting points, preventing metal-on-metal contact, reducing wear, and damping vibration to keep everything rattle-free mile after mile.

The choice of 304-grade stainless steel truly sets this kit apart from cheaper alternatives flooding the market. This premium alloy offers outstanding resistance to heat, corrosion, and the harsh road grime and salt that British weather throws at your bike season after season. When you invest in a Max Torque Cans exhaust for your kawasaki z1000 2003-2006, you’re investing in a component engineered to outlast your ownership and still look brilliant years down the line.

Fitment and Compatibility for the Kawasaki Z1000 2003-2006

Our link pipe kit has been specifically designed and measured to fit directly onto the standard OEM downpipes of the kawasaki z1000 2003-2006 model years. That means no cutting, no welding, and absolutely no expensive fabrication work required. The pipes mate precisely with the factory outlet dimensions, giving you OEM-level fitment with vastly superior sound and performance characteristics. It’s plug-and-play engineering at its finest.

Please note this kit is designed exclusively for the 2003 to 2006 model years of the Z1000. If you’re riding a different year or variant, get in touch with our team before ordering and we’ll ensure you get the correct fitment for your specific machine. Proper exhaust compatibility isn’t just about performance—it’s critical for safety, reliability, and ensuring your bike remains compliant with UK regulations.

If you’re exploring exhaust upgrades for other Kawasaki models in your garage, we also offer premium systems for machines like the Kawasaki Z650 RS Stainless De-Cat System & Rear Silencer, giving you the same quality engineering across your entire stable.

Fitting this kit to your kawasaki z1000 2003-2006 is well within the capabilities of most home mechanics with a decent tool set and a bit of mechanical confidence. The link pipes slide directly onto your OEM downpipes, with the stainless straps and rubber insulators securing everything firmly in place. Here are some practical tips to ensure a smooth installation:

  • Always allow your bike to cool completely before starting work—hot exhausts can cause serious burns and make handling components dangerous.
  • Apply a thin layer of exhaust assembly paste to the joints. This helps seal minor imperfections, prevents future corrosion, and makes future removal much easier.
  • Torque all fixings to the manufacturer’s specifications and recheck everything after your first ride. Heat cycling can cause bolts to settle slightly, so a quick retorque ensures everything stays secure.
  • If you’re pairing this kit with an aftermarket silencer, double-check outlet diameter compatibility before ordering to ensure a perfect match.

We’ve also created a series of comprehensive YouTube installation videos showing the kawasaki z1000 2003-2006 exhaust being fitted step-by-step. To Make sure that you are shopping for the correct Model exhaust here is some information about this model.

The Kawasaki Z1000 is a four-cylinder motorcycle introduced in 2003 with streetfighter or standard styling.
History
Kawasaki introduced the Z1 (900) motorcycle in 1972 as the first of the Kawasaki Z series, with four cylinders, dual overhead camshafts and 903 cc (55.1 cu in), followed by a 1015 cc version designated Z1000.

In 2003 Kawasaki introduced a completely revamped 30-year anniversary edition of the Z1000. It used a modified engine from the Kawasaki ZX-9R and was bored out by 2.2 mm resulting in bigger displacement, more low-RPM torque, and only a slight power loss of 4 bhp from the original ZX9. In 2004, Kawasaki released the Z1000’s smaller brother, the Z750. In 2007, Kawasaki released a new Z1000.

In October 2009, Kawasaki unveiled 2010 Z1000. It had a new aluminum frame, digital instrument panel, bodywork, and engine. Bore and stroke are 77 x 56 mm, 1 mm more than the ZX-10R’s 76 x 55 mm displacing 1,043 cc. That is up from the previous model’s 953 cc. The compression ratio is 11.8:1, and fuel injection is handled by a bank of 38-mm Keihin throttle bodies.

2003–2006 models
Stylistically, 2003 Z1000 was a departure from other naked sportbikes of the time. The Z1000 used the same tail section that was being used on the 2003 ZX6R 636 cc sportbike.
It has a 4-2-4 exhaust system. The Z1000 uses a backbone frame that supports the engine as a stressed member. Engine mounts can be removed to ease access for maintenance. Compression damping is done on one fork leg, rebound damping on the other. This technology is from dirt bikes and is rare on street motorcycles. The Nissin brakes have four-piston calipers.
